This is the awkward bit where I have to talk about me...

Let me start with the photo. Yes, That's me. Huw Jones, the 'person behind the camera' capturing your life long memories. With me is my wife, my rock, my best friend or in Hannah's words 'the better half of our marriage'. Without this amazing woman by my side, her encouragement, her support and her patience (she has a lot), I would not be writing this 'About Me' page.

So who is Huw Jones. I won't lie to you and tell you photography has been my dream job all of my life. It hasn't. I didn't really know I enjoyed taking photos and capturing life until about 2012. We were lucky enough to take a trip to Tanzania on safari and I decided it was a good idea to take a half decent camera to snap all the amazing wildlife we were going to see. So I ordered my first Nikon DSLR along with a couple of lenses (along with an idiots guide) and tried to learn as much as I could before we departed for Africa. I am so pleased I did. From this holiday forward I started to develop my interest and love of photography.

After taking a few courses, I started taking photographs of people and also found an interest in Light Painting.

(more on Light Painting here)

Friends and family started asking me to shoot their weddings. A little nerve wracking at first but they turned out well. I did some more and realised that I really enjoyed being able to capture these very special moments for people and I was getting better. Documenting something for people that they would be able to look back on and remember how they felt on that one day is quite a special thing to be able to do.

So here I am! Not exactly what I said I would be doing when sat in school at the age of 16 being told to make important choices about the rest of my life. I guess I just needed to live it a bit first to choose my path. A photographer and extremely happy this is the way life has brought me.

Outside of photography I enjoy to cook (not so much the washing up). I love throwing in a bit of this a bit of that and creating something tasty and off book. My wife would agree this is one of my better qualities.

I listen to a lot of music. Anything from a classical through indie & rock right up to and including Drum and Bass. A slightly eclectic taste. Although I am terrible with band names etc. If I like it i listen to it.

I like to travel when we can, be it within the UK or abroad. I like to visit new places and experience different ways of life.

In the UK itself we have some stunning countryside which we mustn't forget. The views from our UK mountains are breathtaking (weather dependent).

Well that's me. I guess it's over to you. Want to have a chat about your wedding plans? Pop yourself over to my contact page and get in touch and lets see if your date is available.

I hope to speak to you very soon.
